Today for Social Studies Aquarius, Milky Way, and Galaxy got together to continue our studies on masks. This week we learned about masks used in performance.
This is an example of one of the masks used in the Beijing Opera. The colors and markings symbolize good, evil, animals, and personality traits.
Then we started designing some masks of our own! We thought about the colors and feelings we wanted to express with our masks.
The masks turned out great! Everybody looked very cool.
