This week for science, we did a snowstorm in a jar experiment! First we guessed what would happen if we mixed water, paint, oil and Alka Seltzer. Everyone came up with creative guesses.
Then everyone took turns pouring everything into a big jar. First, we pored the water.
Next we added paint to the water. It looked like milk!
Next we added oil. We were surprised to see that the oil did not mix with the water.
Last we added the Alka Seltzer tabs and watched bubbles form! White bubbles settled to the top of the mixture and looked like a snow storm.
This was so fun to watch! We are so excited to see what experiment we will do next week.
