Aluminum Art!

Today the Galaxy class started a new art project! They are continuing with the theme of sensory play and textures.

They started off with a piece of cardboard with many small slits on each side. Then they took a long piece of yarn and wrapped it around the cardboard to create some unique shapes and patterns.

The next step was to cover the cardboard with aluminum foil. After patting it down, the yarn created an embossed abstract pattern!

The last step was to pick out some colors and to fill in the shapes with markers! They look similar to stained glass windows. Everybody did a great job of picking beautiful colors and being careful not to rip the foil.

There is only one more week of sensory play in art this month. We can’t wait to see what our next masterpiece will be. Great job everybody!
