The class practiced a song called “Cuckoo Song”. The students reviewed the time signature called 3/4. We usually count in 4/4. The kids did a great job keeping the beat or tempo, steady and counting correctly.
I explained that the song is about a cuckoo bird, who sings light and short. The students tried to imagine themselves as the bird, playing light and short without playing in a big volume.
The students tried their best to practice from a slow tempo to playing at a mid tempo waltz. Their focus on trying this challenge was very good.
The class did a very good job trying today’s challenge. We look forward to playing and hearing more great music.
