We took a fun and memorable trip with the K3 classes of Gotanda, Ogikubo, and Kamikitazawa to the Kids Field. On our first day, we had a delicious lunch outside at the campsite followed by learning how to walk on a slack line taught by two professional slack line athletes. All of the children had a great time learning how to balance and walk the slack lines. There were four levels of slack lines to choose from.
For dinner time, we had to cut and peel the carrots and potatoes for the curry and tried their hand at slicing carrots carefully. We had to carefully beforehand split wood with an axe very carefully with the teacher. We enjoyed the cooked curry with pre-cooked rice.
We had a bath afterwards with the female staff members, got ready for bed, read a bedtime story and went to sleep around 9pm.
The next day, we woke up around 6am, got ready, and had carton hot dogs, where they cooked hot dogs wrapped up in foil in a juice/milk carton that is lit on fire on one side to cook the hot dogs inside the foil.
After breakfast, we walked to the athletic park and tried out many obstacle courses, climbing activities, and a really long slide from high above the hill. We were there for about an hour and a half, having a great time.
Afterwards, we came back for lunch and ate a bento style lunch box and collected leaves for smoking sweet potatoes that were wrapped in foil.
We enjoyed the sweet potatoes for dessert but it was kind of hot, so we had to hold them carefully. It was a lot of fun and we made new friends from other schools and shared lots of awesome memories.
