For the past two weeks in art class, Galaxy has been working on making bugs out of paper clay. This months art theme is making 3D sculptures.
Last week we molded the body parts of the bugs. We used our hands and clay tools to shape the clay into the size and shape we wanted.
Then we used pipe cleaners to attach antennas and legs. We also learned a clay technique to attach pieces of clay together called “slip and score”.
After the clay dried we got to paint our bugs! We all picked different colors.
Everyone was careful to paint the bugs nice and neatly.
Some of us made butterflies, beetles, ants, spiders and snails! They all turned out amazing ! Great job Galaxy.
