Artistic Owls

The art theme in Galaxy class for September is about exploring and creating space using shapes. This week we made the image of an owl using only triangles and circles.

The first step was to stack two circles to make a pair of big owl eyes.

They were careful to place the eyes, beak and feathers with enough space around the shapes so it will resemble an owl even without drawing the outline of the head.

The last step was an important and challenging one. After picking out the colors they like, they began to glue many tiny triangles in a row to create a pattern and the shape of the owl’s body.

Galaxy did really well with gluing, pattern making, and using shapes to create space. These are some cool and unique owls. Let’s see what they will be able to do next week! Great job everybody.
