The students are learning a new song called the Cuckoo Song. All the students learned about a new time signature called 3/4 time. We usually play in 4/4 time.
The students had to follow along with the music by singing and playing the notes on the keyboard at first. This helps them build their confidence in playing the music well.
Everyone tried their best using the correct fingers for the keys without moving their hand as much. The goal of playing this song is to play a different type of time signature while trying to play a simple playing melody.
Towards the end of the lesson, everyone tried their very best to read and play the correct notes on time. I was very impressed with their playing. We hope to learn much more challenging songs and some other fun songs in the future.
